Tracer's branded MPPT charge controller is an intelligent solar panel battery charging controller with power yields up to 290% higher than PWM controllers thanks to support panels with voltage up to 55V. This controller intelligently manages the process of charging and discharging batteries, which directly translates into battery life. By offering MPPT functions, it converts the higher voltage of solar panels into increased battery charging current, which a regular PWM controller would simply waste. As a result, the charging current increases, causing batteries to be charged from the same solar panels much faster than regular charging regulators. The intelligent charge controller automatically adjusts its current conversion parameters to obtain optimal power. It moves along the current and voltage lines, selecting the point at which the product of these parameters, i.e. power, is the highest at the output. Another advantage of MPPT regulators, apart from the full use of the panels' power, is also the ability to work with panels with higher voltage than in the case of PWM regulators. Higher voltages also have the advantage of being able to use thinner and therefore cheaper cables or the lack of voltage drops in the case of significant distances between panels and regulators. These regulators have many adjustable parameters, such as the load cut-off voltage range or battery type or the method of setting the discharge output, which actually affect the operation and protection of the battery. The current parameters of the charging system are displayed on a large LCD display.
The main features of the TRACER series MPPT charge controllers are:
The MPPT charge controller has an algorithm thanks to which the products in this series can quickly and accurately track the Maximum Power Point selected photovoltaic panel to obtain and use maximum solar energy, which increases energy efficiency,
Multiple load control modes: manual mode, light ON/OFF, light On/Timer and test mode,
< li>Displaying current operating statistics on a large LCD display,
Working with various types of batteries - gel / acid,
External temperature sensor,
Internal temperature sensor,
Division of charging into 4 stages,
Many output setting modes,
You can also connect an LCD monitor to the controller by connecting it with a 2-meter RJ45 cable. If the battery and controller are placed in an inconspicuous place, the monitor will be an ideal solution for tracking the PV system. Special free software is dedicated to the given controller, thanks to which it is possible to track data from the PV system.
