230V converters, also known as inverters, are devices used to obtain 230V mains voltage from DC sources, e.g. 12V or 24V. The converters are used as an emergency power supply in the event of a power cut or typically in photovoltaic sets. They draw low-voltage current from batteries by converting it into electricity from a socket - that is 230V.
The alternating current generated at the output may have the characteristic of a full sine or a so-called "modified sine", which is similar in its graph to a sine.
This feature affects the operation of individual receivers.
Generally, most devices require a correct sine for correct operation, however, capacitive induction devices such as fridge motors, saw pumps, drills, grinders will work badly on modified sine by heating and humming or not working at all.
Therefore, to power fridge pumps drills saws air conditioners to protect these current consumers it is necessary to use converters generating the output so-called "full sine".
For many years we have tested various converters drawing specific conclusions - all Chinese converters are chilled with output parameters several times lower than what is written on them. Chinese converters competing with an unusually low price, except that they have much lower power than the declared lack of protection and can quickly burn completely. After many trials and tests of converters, the only brand worth recommending and leaving the competition far behind is the VOLT brand. In addition to offering real values in accordance with the manufacturer's declaration, VOLT converters have very nice current characteristics and the SINUS series is the king among the converters.
For solar applications where very high voltage peaks from charge controllers may occur, we recommend the SINUS PLUS series.
