The MAX40 40A 12/24V PWM Charge Controller (MAX‑EU series) is a multifunctional, intelligent solar controller designed for use in standalone 12V and 24V photovoltaic systems. The device is equipped with a large LCD display, extensive energy statistics functions, and a range of safety features, effectively protecting the battery against overcharging and deep discharging, extending its lifespan.
MAX40 utilizes PWM technology, implementing a four-stage charging process: fast charging (Bulk), pulse/Boost, equalization (Equal), and maintenance (Float), which optimizes energy absorption by the battery. The controller automatically detects whether it's operating in a 12V or 24V system, simplifying installation and eliminating the risk of incorrect voltage settings. A built-in temperature sensor and the ability to connect an external sensor are also included, while temperature-compensated charging voltage ensures proper operation in changing environmental conditions.
The MAX40 40A 12/24V controller is ideal for medium-sized off-grid PV installations, such as systems in campers, caravans, summer houses, allotments, lighting systems, and emergency power supply systems. Thanks to the extensive receiver operating modes (Standard, D2D – from dusk to dawn, street lighting mode with timer, user mode), the controller can be easily adapted to specific applications.
The large LCD display allows you to view current system parameters (voltage, current, battery status, power) and daily statistics, while two USB ports allow you to charge mobile devices with 5V. The device has a full set of electronic protections, including short circuit, overload, reverse polarity, overheating, and battery overcharging, which increases the safety of the entire installation.
